It ranks third in Africa after, Sudan and Ethiopia in livestock population.
The main livestock types are:
cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, and donkeys.
Tanzania regards agriculture to be the readily available economic activity and means of wealth creation. This is a reason why greenhouse farming is becoming more popular in different parts of the country. The popularity of this farming method can also be attributed to the dependence on agriculture as a serious investment.
